Dengue claims two more lives

Two more people have died from dengue in the country in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 516 others have been admitted to hospitals after being infected with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease.

The information was disclosed on Sunday, December 7 in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room under the Directorate General of Health Services.

According to the release, within the 24-hour period from Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 am, hospital admissions include 49 patients in Barishal division, 96 in Chattogram division, 96 in Dhaka division (excluding city corporations), 127 under Dhaka North City, 75 under Dhaka South City, 6 in Khulna division, 28 in Mymensingh division, 31 in Rajshahi division, 5 in Rangpur division, and 3 in Sylhet division.

As per DGHS data, 540 patients were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours. From January to date, 95,744 people have been discharged from hospitals, while the total number of admissions stands at 97,829. In the same period, dengue has claimed 396 lives.
