Deputy Secretary, higher officials to be promoted through examination

Public Administration Reform Commission (PAC) chief Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury said that promotions to the posts of Deputy Secretary and higher officials will be given through the Public Service Commission (PSC) examination.

He said this during a view exchange with journalists working in the Secretariat Bit at the conference room of the Public Administration Ministry at the Secretariat on Tuesday (December 17).

When attention was drawn to the issue of promotions to cadre posts on a party basis, the commission chief said, "We have decided that promotions from Deputy Secretary to above posts will be given through the PSC examination. And the quota that was there will be kept at 50 percent. 50 percent in the administration cadre and 50 percent in other cadres."

Senior Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry and Member Secretary of the Public Administration Reform Commission Md. Mokhles Ur Rahman and other members were present at the view exchange meeting.
