Two carriages of a Dhaka-bound goods-laden train veered off tracks in Natore district on Wednesday afternoon, halting the communication of the capital with the northern region. The incident took place around 1:00 pm at Abdulpur Junction Signal Point. Confirming the matter, Abdulpur rail station master Mohammad Ziauddin said, "A Dhaka-bound train from Parbatipur derailed at Abdulpur Junction Signal Point. As the train was derailed on the main line, several trains got stuck at different stations. Trains remained stuck at Natore station following the derailment, causing suffering to the commuters." The matter was informed to Rajshahi and Pakshi Western rail authorities, he added.

নাটোরে মালবাহী ট্রেনের দুটি বগি লাইনচ্যুত হয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে। এতে উত্তরবঙ্গের সঙ্গে ঢাকা-খুলনার রেল যোগাযোগ বন্ধ রয়েছে। বুধবার (২২ নভেম্বর) দুপুর ১টার দিকে উপজেলার আব্দুলপুর জংশনের সিগন্যাল পয়েন্টে ওই ঘটনা ঘটে। আব্দুলপুর জংশন স্টেশনের মাস্টার জিয়াউদ্দিন জানান, বুধবার দুপুর ১টার দিকে পাবর্তীপুর থেকে মালবাহী ট্রেনটি ঢাকায় আসার পথে আব্দুলপুর জংশন স্টেশনে ঢোকার মুখে পেছনের দুটি বগি লাইনচ্যুত হয়। এর মধ্যে একটি বগি উল্টে যায়। তবে এ ঘটনায় কেউ হতাহত হননি। স্টেশন মাস্টার বলেন, মূল লাইনের ওপর ট্রেনটি লাইনচ্যুত হওয়ায় অন্যান্য স্টেশনে বেশ কয়েকটি ট্রেন আটকা পড়েছে। বিষয়টি রাজশাহী ও পাকশিতে পশ্চিমাঞ্চল রেল কর্তৃপক্ষকে অবহিত করা হয়েছে।
