Thousands of worshippers gathered at the historic Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj on Saturday (June 7) to offer Eid-ul-Azha prayers, marking one of the largest congregations in the country.

The prayer session began at 9:00am and was led by Mufti Abul Khair Mohammad Saifullah. Senior officials from the district administration, political leaders, and dignitaries joined the devotees at the Eidgah, where special prayers were offered for the peace and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah.

To ensure safety, a stringent four-tier security arrangement was implemented. Alongside police and RAB personnel, two platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were deployed around the area.

Kishoreganj Additional Deputy Commissioner Mizabe Rahmat confirmed that the prayers concluded peacefully and without incident. He also noted that two special trains were operated on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab and Kishoreganj-Mymensingh routes to facilitate travel for devotees from distant areas.

As in previous years, Sholakia once again witnessed a sea of devotees, reaffirming its place as a key religious hub for Eid celebrations in Bangladesh.
