Dhaka Bank MD steps down
Sheikh Mohammad Maroof has resigned from his position as Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Bank, less than a year after taking charge.
His resignation letter was submitted to the bank’s Chairman, Abdul Hai Sarkar, on Thursday (August 14).
Maroof joined Dhaka Bank as MD in October 2024, following his tenure as Additional Managing Director at City Bank.
Confirming the development, Chairman Abdul Hai Sarkar stated, “He has failed to comply with several regulatory requirements set by Bangladesh Bank. We have received his resignation, and the board will review it in the meeting scheduled for Monday.”
