‘Dhaka Central University’ ordinance approved

The ordinance to establish ‘Dhaka Central University’ by merging seven government colleges in Dhaka has been approved by the advisory council. Education Adviser Professor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar personally conveyed the news to students over the phone.

On Thursday, January 22, around 2:00 pm, the announcement reached protesting students gathered in front of Dhaka College, creating an emotional atmosphere at the site.

On the ground, it was seen that as soon as confirmation of the ordinance approval came through a phone call from the Ministry of Education, students burst into celebrations. They chanted slogans in the name of ‘Dhaka Central University’, and many were seen embracing one another and crying with joy after the long-standing demand was fulfilled.
