Dhaka City College to reopen on Tuesday
The Dhaka City College, which had been closed indefinitely to prevent student protests, has announced that it will reopen. If everything goes as planned, academic activities will resume on Tuesday, November 19.
This information was revealed through a notice signed by the acting principal, Professor Kazi Neyamul Haque, on Saturday, November 16.
The notice stated that all teachers, staff, and students are informed that the college will reopen on November 19, and the first day's classes will be for the 11th grade. However, the first semester exams for the 11th grade will not be held. The next day, November 20, classes for the 12th grade will begin, but there will be no first-semester exams for the 12th grade either.
The notice further mentioned that classes for the undergraduate (Honours) and postgraduate (Masters) programs will begin on November 21.
Earlier, on October 28, students launched a movement demanding the resignation of the acting principal and vice-principal, along with six other demands. In response, the college authorities announced an indefinite closure of the institution starting November 4 to prevent further protests.
