Dhaka College, Ideal College students clash near Science Lab

Students of Dhaka College and Dhanmondi Ideal College clashed near Science Lab in the capital on Sunday afternoon (September 27), disrupting traffic and prompting the deployment of additional police.

The clash broke out around 12:15pm at the mouth of Green Road near the Science Lab intersection, sending tension through the busy area and disrupting traffic on several adjoining roads.

Police deployed additional personnel to the area to separate the students and bring the situation under control. New Market Police Station SI Mostafa said senior police officials were at the scene and working to restore order.

The immediate cause of the clash was not clear. Some students alleged that the confrontation began after Ideal College students vandalised a Dhaka College bus, but the claim could not be independently verified.

Students of the two colleges have been involved in several clashes in the Science Lab area in the past, with previous incidents also disrupting traffic and prompting police intervention.
