Dhaka District Administration announces financial aid to quake victims

The Dhaka District Administration will provide emergency financial assistance to those injured in Friday’s earthquake in the capital, according to a press release issued on Friday (November 21).

Each victim can receive up to Tk 15,000 for medical treatment, said Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Md. Rezaul Karim in the press release.

The aid is available to residents or visitors in Dhaka who were injured during the earthquake, subject to a doctor’s recommendation.

The district administration has urged hospitals to inform injured patients and their families about the support.

The earthquake struck Dhaka and surrounding areas at 10:38am on November 21, measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale, with the epicentre in Madhabdi of Narsingdi.
