Dhaka jolted by early morning earthquake

A moderate earthquake has struck the India-Myanmar border. Due to its impact, mild tremors were felt in various parts of Bangladesh including the capital Dhaka. The earthquake was felt at 6:29:35am on Tuesday (April 21).

The Meteorological Department said that the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.0 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was near the Manipur border in India. Although the sudden tremor spread panic among many in the morning, no damage has been reported so far.

It is worth noting that earlier on April 12, an earthquake was felt in the Sylhet region on the Bangladesh-India border. The epicenter of that earthquake was the Silchar area of ​​the Indian state of Assam.
