Dhaka South to generate 45MW electricity from waste, Chinese firm to assist

State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam has held a meeting with a delegation of the Chinese company Zhejiang Weiming Environmental Protection Company Limited (Weiming) over generating and managing 45 megawatts of electricity from waste of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

The meeting was held at the conference room of the Local Government Division in the Secretariat on Monday.

At the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the technical concept, investment model and implementation roadmap of the project to generate electricity from DSCC's waste.

At that time, a briefing was presented highlighting various aspects of the project. The state minister and members of the Weiming delegation also exchanged views on the possible investment structure, technical matters and future action plan for implementing the project.

Zhejiang Weiming Environmental Protection Company Limited's Environmental Protection Group Chairman Cheng Wuliang, Assistant to the President Wu Jian and Investment Department Manager Huang Weifeng were present at the meeting.

Additionally, Local Government Division Secretary Md Shahidul Hasan and senior officials of the ministry and Dhaka South City Corporation were present at the meeting.
