Dhaka urges Lithuania to establish visa centre for easier processing

Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir has held a courtesy meeting with non-resident Ambassador of Lithuania to Bangladesh Diana Mickeviciene.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon on Monday, August 17.

Discussions covered bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Lithuania, trade and investment expansion, cooperation in education and ICT, skilled manpower exchange, and the establishment of a Lithuanian visa centre in Dhaka, among other issues of mutual interest.

The foreign affairs adviser praised the consistent communication and cooperation between the two countries. Highlighting the potential of Bangladesh's skilled and trained workforce, he called on Lithuania to recruit more skilled manpower from Bangladesh.

He also requested Lithuania to set up a visa centre in Dhaka to facilitate the visa process for Bangladeshi citizens.

The Lithuanian ambassador expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the education sector. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.
