Dhaka-17: Monir Khan, Robi Chowdhury lead BNP cultural campaign
BNP’s cultural campaigning has gained new momentum ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election 2026. Singers Monir Khan and Robi Chowdhury led a day-long programme organised by the party’s central election cultural steering committee.
Under the initiative of the election management committee, a day-long cultural campaign was held in BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s constituency. The programme began on Saturday in front of Police Plaza in the capital.
The campaign was coordinated by Monir Khan and Robi Chowdhury. Monir Khan is a member of the committee and also serves as head of the party’s cultural wing nationwide. Under his coordination, artists and cultural activists organised consecutive programmes at various locations in the constituency, creating a visible election atmosphere.
Participants included actress Rina Khan, singers Muhin Khan, Shawkat Ali Imon and Rimi, and actress Shah Humaira Subha. Raj Masud Forhad, coordinator of the Cantonment thana-level campaign sub-committee of the Dhaka-17 constituency, also actively took part.
Through cultural performances, music and direct public interaction, communication with voters was strengthened. Local turnout was notable, with many residents spontaneously joining and expressing solidarity with the artists.
Organisers said culture-based campaigning reaches people easily and generates positive responses. Such initiatives will continue in the coming days to further strengthen cultural engagement ahead of the election.
