Dhaka-Mymensingh train services suspended as engine catches fire
Train movement on the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway line has been temporarily suspended after an engine fire on the moving Mohanganj Express in Trishal, Mymensingh.
The incident occurred around 4:30 pm on Monday, May 11, in the Auliyanagar area of the upazila. Passengers on the train panicked after the fire broke out.
Mymensingh Railway Police Station OC Akhter Hossain confirmed the matter.
He said smoke was seen coming from under the engine of the Dhaka-bound Mohanganj Express while it was moving. The driver quickly stopped the train and brought the fire under control.
As a result, train movement on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route has been temporarily suspended. The train will proceed to its destination once the situation normalises.
