Dhanmondi assault victim says 'I'm alive, not dead'
A person named Abdul Quddus Makhan faced resistance from the students while paying respects at Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's monument located on Dhanmondi Road No. 32 on the occasion of August 15. Later rumors spread on social media that he died of a heart attack.
When the news of his death spread in the net world, various confusions were created. Abdul Quddus Makhner's village house is in Narayankhola area of Nakla upazila of Sherpur.
Abdul Quddus Makhan said, "I am alive, not dead." Every year on mourning day, I go to his residence at Dhanmondi 32 to pay my respects to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Yesterday Thursday morning (15 August) when I left my house and went to Dhanmondi 32, they attacked me and beat me up a lot. I am a soldier of Bangabandhu.”
Earlier, his elder son posted on Facebook about the rumors of death. In the post, he wrote, 'Whoever you see in the video, his name is Abdul Quddus Makhan. I am his eldest son Siraj ul Quddus Imran. My father is not dead, it is a rumour. My father is alive, very healthy so far.”
Abdul Quddus Makhan used to do politics with the former vice-president of the Central Farmers League, the eminent politician, agriculturist Badiuzzaman Badsha.
