DMP arrests 482, files 32 cases in overnight drive

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 482 people in drives across various areas of the capital over the past 24 hours. A total of 32 cases have been filed in connection with these incidents.

DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Niaz Mehedi provided the information on Saturday (August 22).

According to the breakdown of arrests: Ramna Division (44), Lalbagh (44), Wari (55), Motijheel (57), Tejgaon (56), Mirpur (119), Gulshan (39), Uttara (59) and Detective Branch (9).

During the operations, police also recovered a gold locket, fake notes worth Tk 16,000, nine mobile phones, three laptops, two CPUs, two tablets, 55 SIM cards, Tk 2,68,500 in cash, 13,914 pieces of yaba, 913 grams of heroin and 32 kg of cannabis.
