DMP arrests 501, files 53 cases in 24-hour drive
In regular operations by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in the capital, 501 people were arrested in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 53 cases were filed.
This information was provided by Additional Deputy Commissioner of DMP's Media and Public Relations Division Niaz Mehedi on Tuesday, August 25.
Among those arrested, 35 were arrested by the Ramna Division, 23 by Lalbagh Division, 72 by Wari Division, 75 by Motijheel Division, 53 by Tejgaon Division, 127 by Mirpur Division, 42 by Gulshan Division, 70 by Uttara Division and 4 by the Detective Branch. During the operations, 4 foreign pistols, 3 magazines, 12 rounds of bullets, 32,161 pieces of yaba, 20 kg 711 grams of cannabis, 2 grams of heroin, 17 mobile phones, 1 private car, 1 CNG and one victim were recovered.
DMP said that, they were arrested during operations in various police station areas of the capital, along with the recovery of various evidence and narcotics. Legal action against those arrested is underway.
