Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned all kinds of meetings, assemblies, processions, rallies, and protests in front of eight key judiciary buildings starting June 14, 2025, until further notice. The directive was issued through a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali on Thursday.

According to the notice, this move aims to maintain public order under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76). The ban covers the official residence of the Chief Justice, Judges’ Building, Judges Complex, main gate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, Mazar Gate, Jame Mosque Gate, entry gates of International Crimes Tribunal 1 and 2, and the front area of the Judicial Administration Training Institute.

The DMP also urged citizens to refrain from blocking roads or disrupting traffic during protests or demonstrations to ensure smooth movement.
