DMP Commissioner calls for no road digging ahead of Eid
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has held a coordination meeting on the overall security and traffic management of Dhaka Metropolitan City on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha. The meeting held at the conference room of DMP headquarters at 11am was presided over by DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed on Monday (May 18).
At the meeting, the DMP Commissioner said that the state and the city must play a responsible role from their respective positions. He also said that a special police operation is underway against extortionists, robbers and drugs. In addition to giving instructions not to carry excess passengers on launches on waterways, he urged the concerned authorities not to dig holes on roads during Eid. At the same time, the DMP Commissioner requested all government agencies to coordinate and fulfill their responsibilities to make the Eid journey safe and smooth.
At the beginning of the meeting, DMP Joint Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah presented the overall security plan through a PowerPoint presentation. Later, representatives of various organizations participated in an open discussion and expressed their opinions.
