DMP Commissioner vows to maintain communal harmony During Puja

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali has assured that every effort will be made to maintain communal harmony in the country. “Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians all live together in this nation. We will do everything to ensure this harmony remains intact,” he said.

The commissioner made the remarks on Wednesday afternoon during a visit to a Puja mandap in Banani.

Highlighting the additional security measures in place for the festival, he noted that no untoward incidents have been reported so far, and celebrations are proceeding smoothly. As per government guidelines, each Puja committee has designated at least two people for on-site supervision.

Commissioner Ali also confirmed that comprehensive security arrangements have been made for Thursday’s idol immersion processions to ensure the safety of participants.
