The directive, issued through a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali, cites the need to maintain public order and ensure the security of the Chief Adviser as the reason for the restriction.
According to the notice, the ban will apply to the following locations: The Bangladesh Secretariat and adjacent areas; The official residence of the Chief Adviser (Jamuna); Surrounding areas bordered by Hotel Intercontinental Crossing, Kakrail Mosque Crossing, Officers' Club Crossing, and Minto Road Crossing.
“This measure has been taken in the interest of maintaining public safety and security. All forms of public gatherings and demonstrations are strictly prohibited in the mentioned areas until further orders,” the notice stated.
