DMP imposes ban on rallies around Secretariat, Jamuna

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all types of meetings and gatherings in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat and the official residence of the Chief Adviser, Jamuna. The restriction will come into effect from Tuesday, October 7, and remain in force until further notice.

The announcement came through a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali on Monday.

According to the notice, the move aims to maintain public order and ensure the security of the Chief Adviser. It prohibits rallies, processions, public gatherings, and any other forms of assemblies in the designated areas.

The restricted zones include the area spanning Hotel Intercontinental Crossing, Kakrail Mosque Crossing, Officers’ Club Crossing, and Minto Road Crossing.
