DMP issues traffic advisory ahead of concerts in Dhaka

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a traffic advisory for today’s 'Spirits of July' and 'Echoes of Revolution' concerts at Bangladesh Army Stadium, where renowned musician Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform.

The concerts will begin at 2pm today (December 21).

Vehicle movement along the Tongi-Uttara to Gulshan-Banani-Mohakhali route may be disrupted from 2pm to 11pm, said the directive.

DMP has advised using alternative roads during this time. Key changes include:

- Users of the Airport, Kuril, and Banani ramps will travel toll-free on the expressway.
- Vehicles can enter the expressway via the U-turn before Radisson Hotel or the U-loop under Banani Overpass.
- The Banani ramp is closed, with alternate routes for vehicles heading to the Airport and Uttara.
- The flyover loop from ECB Square to Banani will be closed, but traffic can use the ramp near Kurmitola Hospital.

Motorcycles, auto-rickshaws, and bicycles are prohibited from using the ramps. DMP urges public cooperation to avoid traffic congestion.
