  1. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a set of directives to keep the capital's traffic system normal around the upcoming SSC and equivalent examinations starting from April 21. The public and vehicle drivers have been specifically urged to avoid unnecessary movement and parking on roads adjacent to exam centres to ensure hassle-free travel for candidates.

The directives were announced in a public notice signed by DMP Acting Commissioner Md Sarwar on Saturday, April 18.

The notice said SSC and equivalent examinations will begin on April 21 across 127 centres in Dhaka metropolis. The public and vehicle drivers are requested to follow several guidelines to ensure smooth travel for examinees and maintain normal traffic management.

    The guidelines are:
Examinees should leave for exam centres with sufficient time in hand.

Examinees using private vehicles should get off at a less congested nearby location instead of directly in front of the centre and walk to the centre. After the exam, they should walk from the centre to a less congested nearby spot before boarding their vehicles.

Vehicles cannot be parked on roads adjacent to exam centres under any circumstances. Strict legal action will be taken for parking violations.

Guardians are requested not to wait on roads around exam centres. Standing on roads and obstructing traffic is a finable offence under the Road Transport Act 2018.

For the convenience of examinees, from two and a half hours before the exam begins, all other passengers except examinees should avoid roads adjacent to exam centres unless absolutely necessary.

Since the area within 200 yards of exam centres has been declared off-limits for anyone except examinees, no one should loiter near the centres.

DMP has sought everyone's cooperation in this regard.
