Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has urged city residents to share information if leaders or activists of the banned Awami League are found staying in hotels, flats, or student hostels. The identity of informants will be kept confidential, police assured.

At a press briefing Wednesday (September 24), Additional Commissioner (Crime & Ops) S.N. Md. Nazrul Islam said police have intensified raids and surveillance across the city.

He noted that many activists were staying in rented flats free of cost and using these spaces for planning flash processions ahead of the election.

“Awami League is attempting to disrupt law and order before the polls. Public cooperation will make it easier to detain them and contain such attempts,” he said.
