DNA from body parts found by the West Bengal Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in a drain and a flat has matched that of Mumtazarin Ferdous Dorin, the daughter of former Bangladeshi Member of Parliament Anwarul Azim Anar.

A senior official from the West Bengal CID stated, "The DNA report confirmed that the flesh and bones found near a drain and a flat in the area belonged to the former Bangladeshi MP. Both samples were sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in India, where the DNA matched."

It is reported that Dorin arrived in Kolkata at the end of November, and her DNA sample was collected during that time. Both samples were subsequently sent for verification.

On 12 May, MP Anar went to Kolkata to seek medical treatment. A day later, following his treatment, he went to Sanjeeva Suites in Kolkata for unknown reasons. He was eventually killed, cut into pieces and disposed of in different locations including hotel Sanjeeva’s sewage lines.
