DNCC administrator expresses displeasure over scattered waste

Md Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton, administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), has expressed displeasure over scattered waste and garbage in various areas of the city. He expressed this dissatisfaction during an on-site inspection of different areas under the city corporation with divisional heads on Saturday.

During the inspection, the administrator emphasised building a clean Dhaka through public awareness. He also directed to further strengthen the city's cleanliness activities.

A press release from DNCC's Public Relations Department said the administrator inaugurated the cleanliness drive from Nawab Habibullah Model School and College in Uttara on Saturday. Later, along with divisional heads, he toured different areas of the city in a mini bus.

During the inspection, he visited Uttara Centre, Diabari Metro Rail, DNCC's Miako Forest, Cantonment, Mirpur-12 and Pallabi, Kalshi, ECB Square, Banani, Kakli, Mohakhali, the area in front of the Prime Minister's Office, Farmgate, Karwan Bazar, Banglamotor, Hotel Sonargaon, Asad Gate, Manik Mia Avenue and the Parliament Building area.

During this time, the administrator inspected the cleanliness activities of Uttara Metro Rail, Diabari Canal, Miako Forest, DNCC's Centre Point Nursery Forest and the Parliament Building area. He also reviewed the tree plantation plan and implementation methods under the Metro Rail and Elevated Expressway, and directed officials to implement these development projects quickly.

Present during the inspection were DNCC Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Asaduzzaman, Chief Waste Officer Commodore Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Chief Engineer Brigadier General Syed Rakibul Hasan, Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Imrul Kayes Chowdhury, Chief Property Officer Mohammad Shawkat Osman, along with officials from various departments of the organisation.
