Doctor found dead with throat slit in Natore hospital

Dr. Amirul Islam, convener of the Natore District BMA and president of the Clinic Owners’ Diagnostic Association, was found dead with his throat slit on Monday afternoon (September) in a room on the third floor of his own Jonosheba Hospital at Madrasa Mor.

Hospital staff discovered the body after repeated attempts to reach Dr. Islam failed. They broke into his room around noon and immediately informed the police.

On infornation, Sadar Police Station officials recovered the body.

Natore Police Superintendent Amjad Hossain and investigators from the CID and PBI collected evidence from the scene.

Superintendent Amjad Hossain said, “Initial findings suggest he may have been attacked while asleep. His body shows knife wounds and an amputated limb."

"An investigation into this matter is underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators," he added.
