Dr Kamruzzaman appointed new DG of July Uprising Memorial Museum

The government has appointed Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman, a joint secretary currently serving as a Special Officer on Duty (OSD) at the Ministry of Public Administration, as the new Director General (DG) of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum.

The appointment was announced through a gazette notification issued on Wednesday (July 29) by the Personnel-1 Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration.

According to the notification, Dr. Kamruzzaman has been transferred on deputation to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and appointed as the Director General of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum.

He succeeds Tanjim Wahab, who had been serving as the museum's Director General alongside his responsibilities as the Director General of the National Museum.

Officials believe the appointment will help strengthen the museum's institutional activities and accelerate efforts to preserve the legacy of the July Mass Uprising.

The July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum was established by the government to document and preserve the history of the 2024 July Mass Uprising and to present its significance to future generations through research, exhibitions and public engagement.
