Dr. Shakirul Islam৷ appointed special assistant to PM

International researcher Dr. Md. Shakirul Islam Khan (Shakil) has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for foreign employment in the Asia-Pacific region, at the rank of Secretary, on a contractual basis.

The appointment was announced on Thursday (April 2) through a notification from the Ministry of Public Administration’s Contract and Foreign Appointment Division.

The notification states that Dr. Shakirul Islam Khan will assume the role on the condition that he severs ties with any other profession, business, or government, semi-government, or private organization. His tenure will continue for the Prime Minister’s term or until the Prime Minister’s satisfaction, whichever comes first.

In this role, he will oversee the Prime Minister’s programs and policy initiatives and monitor various projects and initiatives as directed.

Dr. Shakirul Islam Khan is a distinguished academic and researcher with prior experience at Japan’s Oita University, Ehime University, and other international institutions.
