Dr Yunus did not brief me about his abroad tours: President
President Md. Sahabuddin said that the chief adviser of the interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus did not coordinate with him normally. Although the constitution provides for informing the President after a foreign trip, he did not comply with it. He has traveled abroad 14-15 times, but did not brief the President even once.
The President said this in a long interview given to the national media outlet Kaler Kantho at Bangabhaban last Friday night.
He also said that he was not aware of the agreement made with the United States before the elections.
President Md. Sahabuddin claimed that he was not allowed to go even after receiving invitations to Kosovo and Qatar.
Regarding the invitation from the Emir of Qatar, he said that a draft letter was sent to him from the Foreign Ministry, which stated that the visit was canceled on the pretext of busy schedule.
He said, I sent the letter back with a question mark and condemned this behavior.
The President alleged that his picture was removed from Bangladesh missions abroad. The President's picture was taken down from high commissions around the world overnight.
'This was the 'first step' of the removal plan.'
The President claimed that he was steadfast in maintaining constitutional continuity despite all the pressure.
He said, "I have told them that I will not leave Bangabhaban even if blood is shed. Even if another chapter is added to history, I will not allow constitutional order to be broken."
