Dr Yunus is ours, students’ nominee: Mirza Fakhrul
Nobel Laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus is becoming the head of the interim government.
In this context, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “Dr Muhammad Yunus is the chosen one of ours and the students. We have given this responsibility to him on behalf of the entire nation. He will fulfill this responsibility.”
He made this comment while talking to reporters after visiting the injured victims of the brutal atrocities, perpetrated by Sheikh Hasina regime before its fall, at Pangu Hospital in the capital on Thursday (August 8).
He also said, "I am impressed by the way the students have worked for the welfare of the country, for the people."
Commenting about the role of students as volunteers, Fakhrul said, “I am overwhelmed. How students are working for the welfare of the country, for the people. They acted as the vanguard of the leading army in the movement to bring back democracy.”
Mirza Fakhrul said, "We have lost many students and citizens who participated in the movement. Not only that, thousands were injured also. Today we came to the hospital to see the injured. We found a list in this hospital, where we saw that from August 5 to 8, more than 600 were admitted being injured by gunshot. Not only in this hospital, but in many hospitals across the country, similar images can be seen.”
