Dr Yunus set to receive ‘King Charles Harmony Award’

Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser to the interim government, will travel to the United Kingdom after Eid at the invitation of King Charles. During his visit, Dr. Yunus is set to receive the prestigious King Charles Harmony Award.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Yunus will depart Dhaka on June 9 and arrive in London on June 10. The award ceremony, hosted by the British royal family, will be held on June 12. He is expected to return to Bangladesh on June 13.

Sources further indicate that during his stay, Dr. Yunus will hold meetings with King Charles and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Key topics expected to be discussed include the repatriation of laundered funds, trade and investment opportunities, development partnerships, the Rohingya crisis, and regional cooperation in South Asia.

This visit marks an important diplomatic engagement, highlighting Bangladesh’s growing role in global affairs.
