Dr Yunus-Tarique talks begins

A crucial one-on-one meeting between Bangladesh’s interim government Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has officially begun at the Dorchester Hotel in central London.

According to the BNP media cell, Tarique Rahman departed his residence in Kingston, UK, at 1:00pm (Bangladesh time) to attend the private meeting with Dr Yunus.

Sources confirm that the meeting will be held behind closed doors, with no other participants from either side. The rare face-to-face discussion comes amid heightened political uncertainty in Bangladesh and is expected to focus on the ongoing political crisis and prospects for the upcoming national election.

Dr Yunus is currently in the UK on a four-day official visit and has been attending several engagements since arriving in London on June 10.
