Draft voter list to be published Sunday

The Election Commission (EC) will publish the draft of the updated voter list on Sunday. Upazila-level officials will post the list at designated locations. This year’s update is expected to add around 4.4 million new voters.

Officials from the EC’s National Identity Registration Wing confirmed the information on Saturday (August 9).

Following the publication of the supplementary voter list, applications can be submitted until August 21 to include the names of eligible persons, remove the names of deceased or ineligible voters, transfer voter registration, or correct any errors or discrepancies. Applications must be made using Form-2, Form-12, Form-13, or Form-14.

All submitted applications will be resolved by the respective Upazila/Thana Election Officers and Registration Officers by August 24. After completing the remaining procedures, the final voter list will be published on August 31.

Currently, the country has 123,732,274 registered voters. In addition, those who turn 18 by October 31 will also be included in the voter list for the upcoming 12th National Parliamentary Election.
