Dream of secular Bangladesh still elusive: Ruhin Hossain Prince
While paying tribute to the martyrs on the occasion of the great Independence Day, former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Ruhin Hossain Prince said that even after so many years of independence, the dream of a democratic, secular and exploitation-free Bangladesh has not been fulfilled.
He said this after paying tribute at the National Memorial on Thursday morning (March 26).
He said that democracy was supposed to be well-established after so many years of independence. But in reality, we are seeing the rise of anti-liberation forces. The dream of a secular and exploitation-free Bangladesh still remains elusive.
Ruhin Hossain Prince further alleged, ‘In recent times, there has been the rise of radical right-wing forces and attacks on the history and heritage of the Liberation War.’
He said that those in power and who talk about the spirit of the Liberation War should take initiatives to restore this history and heritage and resist the evil forces against the liberation.
Calling on the countrymen, he said that everyone must unite in the original spirit of the Liberation War and come forward in the struggle to build a Bangladesh free from democracy, non-communalism, and exploitation.
