Drive at polythene factory in Bogura, fine imposed

A joint operation by RAB-12 and the Department of Environment has seized 1,600 kg of polythene in Bogura. The factory was also fined Tk 50,000 for producing polythene illegally.

Company Commander (Squadron Leader) Firoz Ahmed of Bogura RAB Camp confirmed this information around 9:45 pm on Saturday, March 7. The operation was conducted earlier that evening.

The mobile court was conducted by Executive Magistrate and Bogura Sadar Assistant Commissioner (Land) Palash Chandra Sarker.

RAB officer Firoz Ahmed informed that a raid was conducted at Ma Poli Printing and Packaging factory in Joypurpara area of Bogura Sadar, seizing polythene and sealing the establishment. Polythene was being produced illegally there. At the same time, factory owner Aminul Islam was fined under Section 6(ka) of the Bangladesh Environment Conservation Act 1995.

The RAB official also said such operations will continue in the public interest and will be further strengthened in the future.
