Driver killed after private car intercepted in Natore

A private car driver was tragically killed in Natore's Lalpur upazila on Thursday night (August 8) after unidentified individuals intercepted his vehicle and attacked him.

The incident took place around 10:30pm in the Gopalpur Railgate area on the Lalpur-Banpara road.

The victim has been identified as Saidul Islam, son of Altab Ali, a resident of Bheramara.

According to Lalpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mominuzzaman, the vehicle was en route from Bheramara when the attack took place. The assailants reportedly stopped the car and assaulted the driver inside. Saidul attempted to exit the vehicle for help but died from his injuries at the scene.

Law enforcement officers responded promptly and recovered the body, which has been brought to the police station for further investigation.

OC Mominuzzaman confirmed that a police operation is underway to apprehend the suspects.
