The country is expected to experience mainly dry weather today (Saturday 6), with skies remaining partly cloudy at times, according to the Meteorological Department.

In its six-hour forecast for Dhaka and surrounding areas, the Met Office said winds from the south and southeast may blow at speeds of 8–12 kmph. No significant change in day temperature is expected.

At 6.00am today, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 28.5°C with 88% humidity. On Friday, the capital’s maximum temperature was 35.5°C, while no rainfall was reported in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Met Office noted that monsoon winds are causing rain in parts of the country. A low-pressure system over East Madhya Pradesh has now become less active, but the axis of monsoon winds extends from Rajasthan through Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to southern Bangladesh.

Currently, the monsoon is weak over Bangladesh but remains moderately active over the northern Bay of Bengal.
