DSCC Executive Engineer Suspended

Golam Kibria, Executive Engineer of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), has been temporarily suspended on charges of irregularities and corruption in the allocation, management and tender work of shops in the market.

This information was given in an office order signed by DSCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Shariful Islam on Monday (June 1).

The order stated that Golam Kibria was the Executive Engineer (Current Duty) of DSCC Region-7 and Executive Engineer (Additional Duty) in charge of the Market Construction Cell. Following a memorandum from the Local Government Department, an investigation has been initiated against him on charges of irregularities, corruption and abuse of power related to the allocation and management of market shops.

The decision to suspend him has been taken considering it necessary to prevent him from all duties until a full investigation and departmental activities are completed. During the suspension, he has been attached to the DSCC Secretary's Office.

A copy of the order has been sent to all relevant departments, including the Office of the Chief Advisor and the Ministry of Local Government.
