DSHE to be divided into two separate directorates

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) is being divided into two new and separate directorates, the Directorate of Secondary Education and the Directorate of College Education. The Ministry of Education said the Chief Adviser has already given his consent in this regard.

The information came through an official order signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Sifat Uddin on Sunday, October 12.

According to the ministry, an eight-member committee has been formed to prepare a full proposal, including two separate organograms and worklists, to establish an independent directorate for secondary education by separating it from the DSHE. The committee has been asked to submit the two proposed organograms to the ministry within 30 days.

The committee’s responsibilities include drafting the Allocation of Business for the new directorates following the Rules of Business, 1996; preparing organisational structures (organograms) for both directorates; formulating their work distribution; and determining the Table of Organisation and Equipment.
