DU main gates to remain close for 34hrs ahead of DUCSU election
Dhaka University’s main entrances will be closed to the general public for 34 hours from 8 p.m on Monday, September 8, until 6 a.m on Wednesday, September 10, ahead of the Dhaka University Central Student Council (DUCSU) and hall council elections scheduled for Tuesday, September 9.
The university administration announced that during this period, entry through Shahbagh, Doyel Chattar, Shibbari Crossing, Palashi, Fular Road, Udayan School, and Nilkhet gates will be restricted for the general public.
However, students, faculty members, and university staff with valid ID cards will be permitted to enter the campus. Family members of staff and faculty can also gain access upon presenting photocopies of their identification.
Individuals not affiliated with the university who require urgent access must obtain security passes from the Proctor’s office.
Only vehicles bearing Dhaka University stickers, along with emergency service vehicles such as ambulances, medical transport, journalists’ vehicles, law enforcement, and fire services, will be allowed on campus during this time.
The university administration has urged all students, teachers, and staff to carry their ID cards at all times throughout the election period.
