Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna has claimed that the recently held DUCSU and JUCSU elections were rigged to such an extent that even Sheikh Hasina’s controversial electoral record was "outdone" by Jamaat-backed authorities.

Speaking to reporters during a river cleanup programme organized by the Kishoreganj district unit of Jubo Dal on Friday, Munna alleged that both the Vice Chancellors and Proctors of Dhaka University and Jahangirnagar University are affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami — a factor he says led to widespread election engineering.

“The whole country was watching these campus elections post-August 5. But what we saw was nothing short of a mockery. Through massive rigging, they engineered the outcome in their favor. Even Sheikh Hasina was defeated in election manipulation this time,” Munna told reporters.

According to Munna, every major student panel, including the NCP, independents, and the Umama panel, rejected the DUCSU election results in protest. He added that the same pattern of manipulation was attempted in the JUCSU polls, prompting Chhatra Dal to boycott the vote.

“Chhatra Dal didn’t engage in any chaos during either election. We acted responsibly,” he said.

Turning his focus to the upcoming national elections, Munna vowed that BNP activists will be active and alert at polling centers to ensure fair voting.

“We will stand with the people. BNP activists will protect polling stations and ensure citizens can vote freely,” he stated.

Munna also expressed concern over the state of the Narsunda River, calling it "almost dead" due to years of misuse and obstruction.

“We’re planning to restore and reopen the river’s natural flow,” he added.

Central and local leaders present at the event included Jubo Dal Senior Vice-President Rezaul Kabir Pol, former Joint General Secretary Saidur Rahman, Kishoreganj District President Khasruzzaman Sharif, General Secretary Abdullah Al Masud Suman, Senior Vice-President Mostak Ahmed Shaheen, Vice-President Golam Mostafa Parvez, Senior Joint General Secretary Sazzadul Islam, Joint General Secretary Syed Ali Mostaba Tajbir, Assistant General Secretary Rafiqul Islam Sobuj, and Nasimul Haque Russel, among others.
