DUCSU moves to revoke Sheikh Hasina’s lifetime membership: AGS Mohiuddin

The Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) has decided to revoke Sheikh Hasina’s lifetime membership, according to Assistant General Secretary (AGS) Mohiuddin Khan.

He said DUCSU leaders reached a policy consensus on the matter and that the decision will be formally approved at the union’s second general meeting of 2025 — the same platform where the membership was granted in 2019 following a student council dominated by the Bangladesh Chhatra League.

Mohiuddin stated that the current DUCSU is working in line with students’ expectations and pre-election commitments to inclusive representation.

He noted that their initiatives are divided into two categories — short-term service measures and long-term policy reforms — with visible progress already made in several areas.

He added that while some reforms will take time, the union is gradually moving toward full implementation.
