DU-unit BCL full committee announced

The Dhaka University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League has announced its full committee on Monday.

A circular signed by Chhatra League Central President Saddam Hussain, General Secretary Sheikh Wali Ashif Inan, DU Chhatra League President Mazharul Kabir Shayon and General Secretary Tanvir Hasan Saikat was issued in this regard.

Earlier, on December 20, 2022, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the incomplete committee of Dhaka University along with the central committee from Ganabhaban.

The newly announced 279-member committee includes 61 members appointed as vice-presidents, 11 as joint general secretaries, 11 as organizing secretaries, and 36 to various other secretary positions.

Also, 137 were appointed as deputy secretaries, 10 co-secretaries, and 11 members.

However, according to the constitution of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the university unit (considered equivalent to the district committee) is supposed to have 151 members.

There is a provision in the constitution to have a maximum of 21 vice-presidents in the district committee. According to the Chhatra League’s constitution, 61 vice- presidents can be in the 301-member central committee.
