A mild earthquake was felt in various parts of the country including the capital Dhaka. No casualties have been reported so far in this earthquake that lasted for a few seconds. The tremor was felt around 5 pm on Friday. Since then, many people have been seen posting about the earthquake on social media. The magnitude of the tremor was 4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was on the India-Bangladesh border. Fire services and other emergency service providers are on alert after the earthquake.

রাজধানী ঢাকাসহ দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে মৃদু ভূমিকম্প অনুভূত হয়েছে। কয়েক সেকেন্ড স্থায়ী এ ভূমিকম্পে এখন পর্যন্ত কোনো হতাহতের খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। ভূমিকম্পটি শুক্রবার (১১ এপ্রিল) বিকেল ৫টার দিকে অনুভূত হয়। এরপর থেকে অনেকেই সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে ভূমিকম্প নিয়ে পোস্ট করতে থাকেন। বাংলাদেশ আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তরের আবহাওয়াবিদ গোলাম মোস্তফা বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে জানান, রিখটার স্কেলে ভূমিকম্পটির মাত্রা ছিল ৪। তিনি আরও জানান, এর উৎপত্তিস্থল ঢাকা থেকে ১০৫ কিলোমিটার দূরে ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া জেলার আশপাশে ছিল। ভূমিকম্পের পর ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও অন্যান্য জরুরি সেবা সংস্থাগুলো সতর্ক অবস্থানে রয়েছে।
