An earthquake that originated in Punakha, Bhutan, was felt in various parts of the country including Dhaka at 11:36pm on Sunday night. According to the Android Earthquake Alert System, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.3 on the Richter scale and its epicenter was 5 kilometers away from Punakha city. In addition to Bangladesh, the tremors were also felt in Bhutan, India and China. However, no damage has been reported anywhere so far.

ভুটানের পুনাখায় উৎপত্তি হওয়া একটি ভূমিকম্প আজ রোববার রাত ১১টা ৩৬ মিনিটে ঢাকাসহ দেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে অনুভূত হয়েছে। অ্যান্ড্রয়েড আর্থকোয়েক অ্যালার্ট সিস্টেমের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, রিখটার স্কেলে ভূমিকম্পটির মাত্রা ছিল ৫ দশমিক ৩ এবং এর উৎপত্তিস্থল পুনাখা শহর থেকে ৫ কিলোমিটার দূরে। বাংলাদেশের পাশাপাশি ভুটান, ভারত ও চীনেও এই কম্পন অনুভূত হয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে। তবে এখন পর্যন্ত কোথাও কোনো ক্ষয়ক্ষতির খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।
