Earthquake strikes again at midnight, jolts Northern region
An earthquake was felt in several areas of northern Bangladesh, including Rajshahi, Joypurhat, and Thakurgaon, at 3:06 am on Friday. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter 14 kilometers south of Kodari, near the Nepal-China border.
As reported by the Times of India, tremors were also felt in Bihar and Siliguri, India.
Earlier, another earthquake struck Sylhet at 2:55 am on Thursday, with a magnitude of 5.3. On Tuesday morning at 6:40 am, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 originated in the Bay of Bengal, affecting coastal districts. Tremors were also felt in West Bengal, India.
