An earthquake was felt in several areas of northern Bangladesh, including Rajshahi, Joypurhat, and Thakurgaon, at 3:06 am on Friday. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter 14 kilometers south of Kodari, near the Nepal-China border. As reported by the Times of India, tremors were also felt in Bihar and Siliguri, India. Earlier, another earthquake struck Sylhet at 2:55 am on Thursday, with a magnitude of 5.3. On Tuesday morning at 6:40 am, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 originated in the Bay of Bengal, affecting coastal districts. Tremors were also felt in West Bengal, India.

মধ্যরাতে আবারও বাংলাদেশের উত্তরাঞ্চলের রাজশাহী, জয়পুরহাট ও ঠাকুরগাঁওসহ বেশ কয়েকটি এলাকায় ভূমিকম্প অনুভূত হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার দিবাগত রাত ৩টা ৬ মিনিটে এ কম্পন অনুভূত হয়। ভারতীয় আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর (আইএমডি) জানিয়েছে, রিখটার স্কেলে এই ভূমিকম্পের মাত্রা ছিল ৫.৫। এর উৎপত্তিস্থল নেপাল-চীন সীমান্তের কাছে কোদারি থেকে ১৪ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণে। টাইমস অব ইন্ডিয়ার প্রতিবেদন অনুযায়ী, ভারতের বিহার ও শিলিগুড়িতেও এই কম্পন অনুভূত হয়েছে। এর আগে বুধবার দিবাগত রাত ২টা ৫৫ মিনিটে সিলেটে ৫.৩ মাত্রার একটি ভূমিকম্প আঘাত হানে। এছাড়া মঙ্গলবার সকাল ৬টা ৪০ মিনিটে আরেকটি ভূমিকম্প হয়। ৫.১ মাত্রার এ ভূমিকম্পের আঘাতে উপকূলীয় জেলাগুলোতে কম্পন অনুভূত হয়। এর প্রভাব ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গেও পড়েছিল।
