Easter Sunday today

Today marks the 'Easter Sunday', one of the main religious festivals of the Christian community.

It is also known as the day of Jesus Christ's resurrection—a deeply significant, spiritual, and joyful occasion for Christians.

According to Christian beliefs, Jesus was unjustly crucified by the Jewish ruling authorities on Good Friday. On the third day after His death—Sunday—He rose from the dead, an event commemorated as Easter Sunday. Christians believe that His resurrection paved the way for the redemption of humanity’s sins.

Bangladesh Christian Association President Nirmal Rosario and Secretary General Hemant I Corraya, in a joint statement, expressed their greetings to the countrymen and the Christian community worldwide. They also expressed hope that the spirit of Easter would contribute to fostering greater harmony and humanity around the world during these challenging times.

On this occasion, a special prayer service will be held this morning at the Dhaka Regional Baptist Church in Mirpur No. 10. The service will include prayer, devotional music, Bible readings, blessings, and special prayers for the welfare of the country and the nation. Similar Easter prayer gatherings have also been arranged at churches across the country, including prominent ones in Kakrail and Tejgaon in the capital.
