The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday approved the transfer proposal of 48 more Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) ahead of the 12th National Parliamentary polls. Ashok Kumar Debnath, additional secretary of EC, confirmed the development on Thursday (December 7). He said, "The Ministry of Public Administration sent two separate proposals for the transfer of 158 UNOs. EC agreed to both the proposals." "The ministry sent the list of 110 UNOs transfers on Wednesday (December 6) and 48 on Thursday. Earlier on December 4, the EC approved the transfer of 47 UNOs in the first phase. A total of 205 UNOs have been transferred so far."

আসন্ন দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের আগে আরও ৪৮ উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা(ইউএনও) কে বদলির প্রস্তাবে অনুমোদন দিয়েছে নির্বাচন কমিশন (ইসি)। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার (৭ ডিসেম্বর) এই অনুমোদনের বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেন ইসির অতিরিক্ত সচিব অশোক কুমার দেবনাথ। তিনি বলেন, জনপ্রশাসন মন্ত্রণালয় ১৫৮ জন ইউএনওকে বদলির পৃথক দুটি প্রস্তাব পাঠালে তাতে সম্মতি দেয় ইসি। এর মধ্যে বুধবার (৬ ডিসেম্বর) ১১০ জন ও বৃহস্পতিবার ৪৮ জন ইউএনওকে বদলির তালিকা ইসিতে পাঠায় মন্ত্রণালয়। এর আগে গত ৪ ডিসেম্বর প্রথম ধাপে ৪৭ জন ইউএনওকে বদলির অনুমোদন দেয় ইসি। এ নিয়ে এখন পর্যন্ত ২০৫ জন ইউএনওকে বদলি করা হয়েছে। নির্বাচনের আগে ইউএনও’র পাশাপাশি আজ ৩৩৮ থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তাকে (ওসি) বদলির প্রস্তাবেও অনুমোদন দিয়েছে নির্বাচন কমিশন।
